Qurbani 2021
Nairobi, Kenya (July 23, 2021)
International Basic Aid (IBA) conducted the fourth Qurbani meat distribution for the year 2021. This year’s qurbani was distributed to refugees in Sudan and Ethiopia. Qurbani meat reached more than 32,000 poor families.
“Qurbani is an annual tradition for Muslims across the world and involves an animal sacrifice in recognition of the Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) own willingness to sacrifice his son for the will of Allah (SWT). By making every Muslim responsible for providing a third of the meat from their Qurbani sacrifice for the enjoyment of others at this auspicious time, Allah (SWT) teaches us the equality of the Ummah and the fact that all must give for everyone” said Dr. Taha Seid, President and CEO of IBA. “We are so grateful for all our donors and their ongoing commitment to ensuring that people who do not have access food get the support they need for sustainable future.”
IBA is international nonprofit organization that believes everyone in the world deserves equal opportunity to food and water access. By providing food aid to under-privileged families, IBA will continue to support those in need.
